Library of Things
Effective: April 18, 2022
The Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional library items that complement the Wayne County Public Library’s mission of offering lifelong learning opportunities.
The Library of Things is not intended to be comprehensive, and the library is limited by a finite amount of storage space for these items.
Not all library materials may be suitable for all members of the community. Responsibility for a child’s use of library materials, regardless of format or content, lies with the parent or guardian, not with the library.
Due to the costs and/or risks associated with some of these items, signed waivers may be required before these items are checked out. Signed waivers will be kept according to the Library’s Record Retention Policy.
Due to the nature of the items contained in this collection, many of these items will not be eligible for loan to other libraries outside of Wayne County.
Library of Things items will be routinely evaluated. Items will be removed from the collection based on condition, usage, and space constraints. Popular items that are removed because of wear and tear will be replaced when budget allows.
