HOW IS THE LIBRARY FUNDED?
The Library receives 42% of its revenue from our local levy and 56% from the State of Ohio’s Public Library Fund. The remaining 2% comes from interest earnings, fees, and donations.
WHY DOES THE LIBRARY NEED ADDITIONAL REVENUE?
With rising costs of utilities, supplies, and staffing, a Renewal with an additional .2 mills is needed for the continued success of the Library and for maintaining its current service level.
WHAT WILL THE LEVY COST ME?
The levy will cost a total of $34.10 per $100,000 in auditor’s appraised home value. This is an increase of $7.00 per year.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE LEVY DOESN'T PASS?
If this levy fails, we will lose 42% of our revenue. We will be forced to drastically cut hours, materials, programs, and essential services.
HOW DO I VOTE?
Election Day is Tuesday, November 8. Find your polling place HERE.

LIBRARY LEVY FAQS
The Library will ask for a renewal of our 1.1 mill operating levy with a .2 mill addition on November 8, 2022.
Our current levy will expire in December 2022.
This levy supports the entire Wayne County Public Library System and is critical in maintaining services including:
- The purchase of new books, audio books, movies, music, magazines, games, databases, genealogy resources and tons of eMaterials, WiFi hot spots, computers to check out, and so much more!
- Bookmobile service throughout Wayne County
- Home delivery of library materials for those who cannot travel to the library
- Free WiFi and computers at all locations
- Story times for children and many other programs for teens, adults, and families
